While Asheville and many surrounding towns are deep in healing mode, we still have neighboring towns who were less affected, and could benefit from the economic perks of tourism this fall. Here are a few towns who have declared that they are open and ready for visitors during this peak leaf season:
Located in the westernmost county of NC, Murphy is easy to access and serves as a gateway for many attractions in our area.
Home to the Nantahala Outdoor Center, Great Smoky Mountains Railway, and Fontana Lake, Bryson City is a well-rounded destination for all ages.
Robbinsville and Lake Santeelah are located in Graham County. The Cherohala Skyway can be a great alternative to the Blue Ridge Parkway this season, and this area also features Joyce Kilmer Forest, Fontana Dam, and Tsali Recreational Area.
