In a relatively short time, Asheville, NC has become one of the most desirable small cities in the United States. Asheville is nestled in the French Broad River Valley in the Appalachian Mountains, an area full of natural beauty and a very desirable climate. Neighborhoods in Asheville and Buncombe County range from historic to luxurious to hip and planned unit communities. Each area of the city offers something different, each with unique character and plenty of amenities.

Downtown Asheville

Storied in history, and home to some of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in the United States, Downtown Asheville is filled with quaint art galleries, boutiques, fine restaurants, nightlife, breweries and taprooms, local businesses, and professional services. For real estate options, Downtown Asheville offers lofts, condos, buildings, vacant City lots, historic homes, and more. Pack Square Park offers a green space and hosts events throughout the year, while Pritchard Park hosts the celebrated drum circle every Friday night. West Asheville

West Asheville proper is much like Brooklyn is to New York City. Located on the West side of the French Broad River, West Asheville is anchored by Haywood Road, a diverse area full of local businesses, unique pubs and eateries, professional services, and unique lifestyles. Bent Creek is another popular area and neighborhood, offering an accessible location close to renowned trails and the National Forest. Leicester and Candler were historically farming communities, both now experiencing much growth as the Asheville area becomes more popular.

East Asheville

The areas East of Asheville were historically agrarian and farming communities. As Asheville expands, these valleys and mountains are being developed, yet still retain aspects of their rural past. Areas are known by the valleys and river drainages they hold, including Oakley, Chunns Cove, Haw Creek, Riceville, Bee Tree, and North Fork. The towns of Swannanoa and Black Mountain are located East of Asheville in the Swannanoa River Valley. Fairview is a historic farming valley known for equestrian estates, farming properties, and stunning vistas over the mountains. East Asheville offers a little bit of everything for real estate options, including historic homes, farmsteads, new construction homes, planned unit communities, land tracts and acreage, condominiums, townhouses, vacant lots, and commercial properties.

South Asheville

North Asheville

The areas North of Asheville are home to many diverse neighborhoods and rural communities. The in-town neighborhoods of North Asheville are one of the most desirable places to live in the City. Charming historic homes are found in the Montford, 5 Points, Chestnut Hills, Sunset Mountain, Grove Park, Grace, Norwood Park, Colonial Heights, and Lakeview Park neighborhoods.

Other real estate options include townhouses, condominiums,mid-century homes, land tracts and acreage, commercial properties, and vacant lots. Notable historic golf courses include the Grove Park Inn Golf Course and Asheville Country Club. The towns of Woodfin and Weaverville are popular areas due to their quick access to Asheville.
