We recently bought a mountain home for both an investment and personal use. As a first time home buyer with architecture degree in a very competitive market, I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting myself into or if I had chance of getting something I would be happy with.I knew I don’t care for chatty nosy real estate sales people and wasn’t looking forward to working with an agent.

So, when I saw a listing I liked online, I just contacted Collin as he was the listing agent. Unfortunately (actually turned out to be fortunately), the condo I wanted to see went under contract the day I requested for showing as same thing happened to the second condo I liked. But I was very happy that I got to meet Collin as he is laid back professional who acted more as a friend than an aggressive sales person. By this point, he knew exactly what I was looking for and had been sending me list of prospects as they were coming on market.

While I was on a vacation, Collin called me with this listing that just hit the market which had everything I was looking for. We made an appointment for a showing the day I came back from the vacation. Collin helped with offer process as the market was very competitive and previous owner wanted to wait through the weekend to see if she get more offers. She did get multiple offers but with my personalized email suggested by Collin and his active contact with sales agent, we were able to get the most perfect condo that I LOVE waking up every morning. And the whole process only took a month which was perfect as my previous apartment lease was ending.

Few things about Collin I wanted to share with future homeowners… He is a professional with extensive knowledge on building construction & real estate rules. This was important to me as a first time home buyer. I did not have time or desire to do a lot of research myself and Collin was always there to help & inform me on any questions I had. He will not make you feel pressured but he will kindly guide you towards right direction while providing important information you may not have thought of. He was always available when I had questions or sent him an email. With market being so competitive, it was crucial to get things moving fast, and he was always ready to go when I was.

Overall, great experience and I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone wanting to buy/sell property. I know for sure that I’ll hire him if I need real estate help. He understands that it’s a big decision and he does not rush you or pressure you into making a decision. He will let you know of urgency but will patiently wait for you to make a decision while quietly working in the background. I truly wish more sales people are like him and feel very lucky to have found him.

I couldn’t be more pleased with my choice of Collin O’Berry with Altamont Property Group as my real estate agent to assist me in finding the right house in the Asheville area. I live in another state and made trips back and forth to Asheville for several months trying to figure out what type of property was right for me. Collin has a good understanding of the local area and knows market trends and school rankings. He is an excellent communicator, always following up in a timely manner via phone, text or email. He is a good listener who values the client’s needs and desires. I felt supported, and never judged, during the process of finding the perfect property to meet my needs. Collin is organized and keeps up with all the details. He never tried to get me to look at properties that I wasn’t interested in, even if I determined that upon arrival outside the house. Since I wanted a few acres, I wasn’t sure about the pros and cons of living north, south, east or west of Asheville. He presented information to me in an unbiased way and did not try to pressure me to go in a specific direction.

Collin emailed me new listings to consider on a regular basis and did a good job of filtering to match my preferences. He worked diligently behind the scenes to ensure that my offer, and then counteroffer, would be accepted by the seller and be the best deal I could get on the property I wanted. His advice during the negotiation phase was spot on and he was also there supporting me through the due diligence phase by recommending good inspection companies and meeting them at the house with me. He was very helpful during the closing in June 2017 and afterwards to ensure that everything was in order for us to settle in to the new place. I would highly recommend Collin as both a buying and selling agent. I have worked with agents over the years in purchasing many houses and he is the best I’ve ever encountered. He is honest, polite and respectful and was always available to help me during the process

A few weeks ago I closed on my first house thanks to Patrick Brooks. Patrick is one of the most amazing individuals I have had the pleasure of working with. He made the entire experience enjoyable. His humble and reassuring disposition was much needed in the midst of such a large undertaking. He was always easy to get ahold of, and consistently took the time to fully explain every step of the arduous process. He was very flexible in his schedule and showed his passion for his profession throughout every conversation. His honesty, work ethic, and charisma makes him a incredible realtor and human being.
